A ban notice is built to get your attention, and it works. The instinct is to do something immediately, and that instinct is exactly what bad advice and outright scams feed on. The real process is calmer than it feels: read the notice, submit one clear appeal through Roblox itself, and ignore everyone who offers to fix it for money.
First, read the notice carefully
When Roblox moderates an account, it shows a notice the next time you try to log in or open the app. That notice is the single most useful document you have. It states which rule Roblox believes was broken, usually references the content or behavior involved, and tells you how long the action lasts. Screenshot it before doing anything else, because you will want the exact wording later and you may not see the screen again.
Also check what kind of ban this actually is. Being banned from a single game is not a Roblox account ban: individual experiences can ban players on their own (error codes like 267 usually mean this), and those bans belong to the game's creator, not Roblox. Appealing one means contacting the creator, and Roblox Support cannot overturn it. Everything below is about actions taken against your account by Roblox itself.
The ladder of moderation actions
Roblox uses escalating consequences, and the severity depends on both what happened and the account's history. As of this writing, the ladder looks roughly like this:
- Warning. The mildest action. You acknowledge the notice and continue playing.
- Timeout or short restriction. A brief block, measured in hours or days.
- Timed suspension. The account is locked until the end date shown in the notice. Roblox has used suspensions commonly running from a day up to a week, with longer bans for repeat or serious violations.
- Account deletion (termination). The account is closed indefinitely and stays that way unless Roblox overturns the decision on appeal.
The exact tiers and durations shift over time and are not fully published, so treat the notice on your own screen as the authority. The steady pattern: repeat violations escalate, and termination is the end of the ladder.
How the official appeal actually works
There is exactly one legitimate path, and it runs through Roblox.
- Check the notice for a direct appeal link. For many violation types, the moderation message links straight into Roblox's Violations & Appeals page, where you can review the action and select Appeal. If that link is there, it is the fastest route.
- Otherwise, use the Roblox Support form. Go to the support page at roblox.com/support and choose the appeals option. You do not need to be logged in to submit it, which matters, because a banned account often cannot log in at all. Fill in the account's exact username and use the email address tied to the account, so Roblox can match the appeal.
- Mind the deadline. Roblox states that appeals must be submitted within 30 days of the moderation action (users in the EU are currently given longer). If you intend to appeal, do not sit on it.
- Submit once. Duplicate appeals for the same action are not reviewed and can slow everything down. One complete, well-written appeal is the entire strategy.
What to write
Moderators read a lot of appeals, and the ones taken seriously are short and factual. Include the username, what the notice said (this is where the screenshot helps), and a plain explanation of why you believe the decision was a mistake. A few sentences is enough. Skip the emotion and the paragraph about how much Robux is on the account; neither moves the decision, and anger actively hurts.
One situation deserves explicit mention: if the account was compromised and someone else caused the violation, say exactly that in the appeal, and deal with the break-in in parallel. What realistically happens next
Be honest with yourself about the odds. Appeals do succeed, and genuine moderation errors get reversed, including terminations. But "I didn't know that was against the rules" rarely works, because agreeing to the Community Standards is part of having an account. Roblox is also clear that submitting an appeal does not guarantee the consequence will be lifted, and once an action has been reviewed, it will not be reviewed a second time. Response times vary; community reports suggest anywhere from a couple of days to well over a week, so silence for a few days does not mean rejection.
What not to do
This is the part that protects you from losing more than the account.
Nobody legitimately sells unbans. There is no paid "unban service," no Discord server with "Roblox admins" who can lift bans for a fee, and no middleman with a contact inside moderation. Every one of these is a scam, and they specifically hunt banned players because desperate people pay. At best they take the money; at worst they harvest the login and finish the account off. Making a new account to dodge a termination is ban evasion. The Roblox Terms of Use prohibit it, and Roblox reserves the right to act against alternate accounts belonging to a user it has terminated. That means a fresh account built after a termination can be removed too, along with anything bought on it. If you believe the termination is wrong, the appeal is the route; if the appeal fails, spending money on an evasion account is a genuine financial risk.

Appeals for a younger player work the same way, and the support form can be submitted by a parent using the email on the account. Before appealing, read the notice with your kid and ask what happened; the answer often clarifies whether an appeal makes sense or whether this is a rules conversation instead.
